Dr. Stürzlinger is a leading researcher in spatial and three-dimensional user interfaces, virtual reality, and human-computer interaction with additional strengths in visual analytics.
Since 2014, he is a full professor at the School of Interactive Arts + Technology at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada.
Three-dimensional (3D) user interfaces are popular in movies. There are also many current systems that enable people to interact with 3D content, including computer games. I re-investigate the ideas behind such 3D user interfaces and evaluate how well 3D pointing works. Finally, I present innovative solutions for 3D manipulation that take the capabilities and limitations of both humans and technologies into account.
