Business process is a set of activities performed in a coordinated
manner in an organizational and technical environment aiming at a
business goal. Processes remain a top priority in a business
environment; however, its effective implementation is still a great
challenge due to the fact that work routines are exposed to frequent
changes. The flexibility of a process is related to understanding of
unexpected events that happen when people, systems and resources
interact and require adjustments. Thus, business processes must be
designed to be capable of responding to information about different
events and their specificities. This information defines what the
literature calls context. In this talk, I will show some of the research
we have been conducting in context-based process adaptation.
