In collaborative tasks, a group of individuals works together to achieve a common goal.
Examples range from collaborative editing (e.g., paper co-authorship) to solution outsourcing (e.g., Netflix context).
Existing systems do not use the full potential of the available workforce to ensure low latency, low cost, high quality tasks and balanced load among workers.
We will describe ECCO our vision for a human-centric collaborative framework that offers new opportunities for formalizing optimization-guided collaboration.
We present task-centric and worker-centric optimization formulations and initial results for document translation and collaborative editing.
