Volker Boeing - ePublishing@Springer – building on the XML Foundation

This talk reviews Springer's XML production and explains how new XML-based products have had significant impacts on the production process. How XML data is used and re-purposed in various ways and the fundament for publishing process chain supported by IT. Furthermore it outlines the overall scientific publishing business process from the initial publication idea up to a modern publishing product portfolio consisting of print and electronic renditions alike.
